In case you did not know, National Fitness Day is vast approaching (27 September 2017), so I caught up with upcoming health and fitness blogger Eni, to briefly discuss her fitness journey and hear about a fantastic series of events she has coming up!
JF: What is your name and what do you do?
E: My name is Eni, and I am a health & fitness blogger. Everything to do with health and fitness I write about but in particular I love food! I believe you can eat good food and still be healthy!
JF: I am totally here for that! I guess that is a common stipulation people may have when embarking on a fitness journey. So, how did you get into fitness?
E: I used to be super fit in my school days and lost that during college and early university days. It was when I went abroad to France for a study year; when I decided to make a change. I wanted to get my levels of fitness back. It has now been around 5 years and I have certainly learnt a lot and share my tips and experiences on my blog, Eni's Lab.
JF: Very true. I have been a follower of your blog for the last couple of months and I must say you have inspired me to get back on my fitness journey. What do you think are the main challenges you think 21-30 year olds face when it comes to incorporating fitness into general routine?
E: I think the main challenge that most people face is time, allocating enough time into incorporating health and fitness into daily life. Time is something that is so precious and it is extremely important to dedicate time to yourself; looking after yourself and your diet. You have one body and one life and we ought to see embarking on a healthy lifestyle as an accomplishment, similar to graduating, getting a new job and so on and so forth.
JF: Now I definitely agree, it can be difficult finding your feet in 'adult life' so to speak and allocating enough time to go to the gym, meal prep etc. Like you alluded to earlier, what you put in is what you get out. So, National Fitness Day, I see you have collaborated with UK Active to put on a series of events over the course of the week. What is the general aim of these events?
E: The aim of the event is to get more people active! By doing something out of the ordinary I'm hoping to inspire people to begin or reignite their fitness journey with different activities across the week; from pole to skipping. The classes are all tried and tested so everyone will definitely have a good time. The events are in conjunction with UKActive as you rightly mentioned and their campaign to get people active on National Fitness Day - 27th September.
JF: I must say, you have a variety of events that will cater to a wider demographic which I absolutely love. I am a fan of HIIT classes but you have caught my eye with that Pole Fitness class - I might just see you there!
Now, this was a super quick post just to encourage as many of you as possible to get down to the Gymbox in Holborn and support Eni's Lab as she continues to trailblaze in the fitness industry. Eni has kindly given me a ticket to giveaway to one lucky reader!
