July 1, 2018. July is honestly the best month of the year. I am not saying that because July is my birthday month but because July marks the start of the second half of the year – a perfect opportunity to review your progress in the first half of the year and set yourself up for greatness in the latter end of the year.
Review the goals and targets you set out for yourself at the beginning of the year. Ask yourself, how much progress have you made? Did you write a long list of goals in January, get super excited at what 2018 possibly had in store then allow our goals to fall by the wayside amidst possible trying times? Life happens, the highs and the lows are inevitable but an important trait I would implore you all to cultivate is resilience. Adversity is but a season, remain resilient. A quote I absolutely love from Nick Saban encompasses the essence of resilience reads: ‘It’s about being relentless in the pursuit of your goal and being resilient in the face of bad luck and adversity’
I wanted to keep this real short and sweet. Consider it food for thought. So, Q3, Q4 - I challenge you to be resilient. Be resilient in your pursuit of spiritual, physical, mental, professional and financial growth. Focus on the things that edify you and cut out the things that don’t. As I said, July presents itself as a great time for one to disconnect from things for some time and come back recharged, ready to end the year on a high.
Remember, it isn’t always about how you start, but rather, how you finish. Go forth and have a blessed and productive final 6 months. Let’s reconvene at the end of the year and see how we all did - God willing, testimonies all around!
