IN CONVERSATION WITH TINA ANSERE

Well hey there friend! It has been a minute. Last time I gave you an interview it was winter here in the UK, and we were not living through a global pandemic. I talked myself out of blogging for a few months but I am back, back and better honey! I had the pleasure of talking with the amazing Tina Ansere, an author, performance coach and founder of a purpose-driven coaching group. Please note that social distancing was observed whilst conducting this interview - thank God for technology!

JF: Who are you and what do you do?
TA:
My name is Tina Ansere. I am a Performance Coach, Founder of ALC (Advancing leaders in Christ) Women’s Coaching group and an international author with over 10 years of experience. I have supported over 1,000 people, around career and personal development and strongly believe in empowering individuals to operate in their divine purpose, gifts, and talents so they can advance the Kingdom of God.

JF: What made you go into that line of work?
TA:
It was Divine Purpose. I believe God strategically used the various events in my life to give birth to my calling. For example, I remember coming out of university and struggling to find work. I eventually managed to find an internship with a Recruitment company and my life took a major turn. My test turned into a testimony and I was able to refine my skills whilst helping others find work. By the grace of God, I was exposed to various opportunities that opened doors for me which led to me starting by own Recruitment and talent Acquisition company called TA Recruitment & Consulting LTD in 2018.

TA: Throughout the whole process, I have learnt that we are programmed and conditioned to follow mundane routines, that allow us to conform to the ideals of society. Unfortunately, this leads to mediocrity and complacency. However, this is not God’s intention for us. We were created with a divine purpose and fashioned in a way that enables us to do great works. God has given everyone gifts and talents and it is important for you to actively cultivate them. For those who want to come out of this repetitive cycle, I would encourage you to do a self-assessment, look at your life and identify your passions and interests. What gets you excited? What keeps you up at night? The COVID-19 lockdown has given us a perfect opportunity to execute this, it is time to be still. Consider what it is that you can do to make the world a better place in your own little way. Do not allow fear and the manipulations of this world to distract you from what you have been called to do.

JF: I think being introspective is key. Everyone should do periodic self-assessments. Introspection often requires a level of brutality that some of us aren’t always ready to address. Sometimes, our passions can be different from our day jobs, how can someone pivot into pursuing their passions full-time?

TA: So many ingredients are required in this. Again, self-examination is critical in this process. Ask yourself, where are you in life right now? Where is it that you want to be or need to be? Upon identifying this, you need to start renewing your mind and unlearning negative thought-processes. Growth is often stifled by negative mindsets and limiting beliefs. In order to move into pursuing your divine purpose full-time you need to step out of your comfort zone, let go of those ‘safety crutches’ that you are desperately clinging onto. Step out of your comfort zone and tell yourself daily that whatever happens, you are committed to pursuing your dreams and purpose. Now, this isn’t going to be easy but what will keep you going is resilience. A resilient mindset will have you looking at your problems and wanting to find solutions rather than accepting defeat. Feed your mind and spirit with things that are edifying - things that tell you that you can do it. Be around like-minded people - iron sharpens iron. When I started my business, I consciously surrounded myself with other business owners who had gone ahead of me and were willing to impart their wisdom, knowledge, and insight into me. The final thing I will say is find a mentor. You may ask, Tina, where can I find a mentor? They are everywhere and we have ample platforms at our disposal nowadays - LinkedIn, Instagram, networking events (when we were still able to go outside!) - contact people that are in the space you want to be in and ask them, for advice and guidance. Be hungry, serious and committed. In the face of setbacks, keep going, keep driving forward. The life of an entrepreneur or professional who wants to succeed is built on endurance - stick it through right until the end!

JF: How have you been dealing with the COVID-19 lockdown?
TA:
First and foremost, my sincere condolences and prayers go out to those who have lost family members or currently going through a difficult time. I have found this time personally very humbling and a good opportunity to reflect on what is important.I have spent a lot of time with God, revisiting my plans and truly understanding the vision. I have found that constantly edifying myself with the Word of God has allowed me to look at situations like this as an opportunity for progression. I have been privileged enough to have connected with a lot of people and from a business perspective, these connections have allowed me to understand what people need during this time. I have been consistently asking myself how I can offer more support for people doing this time of crisis and how it can demonstrated through the vessels that God has given to me. I understand that the world will look very different post-COVID-19 and you and I have been given the opportunity to prepare for this transition. We are going to a new level.

JF: I agree, the next season is a new one and will require a different level of us. We have to be ready to step up to the plate. Now, onto your book - Breaking the Chains of Dysfunction, talk to me about it and what you hope people take away from this book.
TA
: Breaking the Chains of Dysfunction is a liberating, educating and inspiring book, that takes a deep look into the steps required to annihilate the destructive patterns in life. It offers a fresh approach on how we process pain and eliminate the stumbling blocks hindering us from reaching our purpose and destiny. It is based on the word of God, the living truth and has been designed for you to come into alignment with God’s plan. Throughout the book, you will be able to examine yourself and use the tools you have gained to yield results. Writing the book was such an amazing process for me, it felt like a form of therapy, where the Holy Spirit was ministering to the deepest parts of my soul and provided healing and restoration. This enabled me to form a new identity through Jesus Christ. I would honestly recommend this book to anyone who is ready to move to the next level of their life and operate in power and authority.

JF: What does the future hold for Tina?
TA:
Wow what a loaded question! I believe God has many great things in store for me and I am forever grateful to be a servant for His glory. For now, I will still be promoting my book Breaking the Chains of Dysfunction, which I would like to encourage everyone to get a copy, it is available now on Amazon and Lulu. In addition, I will be continuing my mandate of assisting and training women to discover their purpose and expanding ALC (Advancing leaders in Christ) Women’s Performance Coaching group. We have a plethora of upcoming sessions which I am extremely excited about, alongside training taking place in September. If you would like to participate you can register your place via Eventbrite. You can also reach out to me via Instagram for more information around Performance Coaching.
